General Muhammadu Buhari, who is running for the presidential seat from the All Progressives Congress (APC), has bemoaned the fuel scarcity that has hit Nigeria, stating that, Nigerians are forced to spend quality hours queuing for petroleum products. Buhari via his official Twitter account said that Nigeria as a country should not be importing petrol. THE REASON FOR FUEL SCARCITY- OIL MARKETERS SPEAKS

Nigerians have once again been thrown into a fresh round of acute fuel scarcity and it seems it is not ending anytime soon . The Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) disclosed in Abuja yesterday, March 2, that the scarcity of fuel currently being experienced in major cities across the country will persist except federal government acts fast to pay outstanding subsidy claims. MOMAN is responsible for the importation of about 60 percent of petroleum products consumed in the country. According to Leadership report, the executive secretary of MOMAN, Olawore Obafemi, who disclosed this, attributed the current fuel scarcity to the non-payment of arrears of subsidy claims and rise in cost which has hindered the marketers from importing petrol into the country since February.       President Goodluck Jonathan has spoken up about the plot to remove the Chairman of The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega. Speaking on Monday, March, in an interview with Aljazeera, President Jonathan reassured Nigerians and the international community that he has no plan to sack Professor Attahiru Jega, ahead of Nigeria’s general elections slated for March 28 and April 11.   Professor Yemi Osinbajo has reacted to claims that he left his father to suffer in a village in Ogun state. A few days ago, a photo of  a poor man sitting down, resting his back on the wall of a mud house went viral. The obviously helpless-looking man was allegedly said to be the father of the vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Yemi Osinbajo. This might have been because of the striking semblance between the old man and the pastor cum politician.
