Has nigerian prisons been uprgaded to international standards?
Wuse Zone 6 Senior Magistrates court, Abuja yesterday said that the criminal case brought against Nigerian boxer, Bash Ali, and four other accused persons will hold on April 2. Bash Ali has was jailed alongside Gabriel Ikyowe ; Timothy Ugbede; Daniel Otoski and Jones Ebele. Bash Ali Bash has however met all the demands for bail but has refused to leave jail. They were arraigned on Febraury 19th on a six count charge of joint act of abetment, criminal trespass, and obstruction in public way. Prosecuting officer, Sgt. Bulus Samuel said that these charges contravened the provisions of sections 79, 85, 348, 194, 256, and 397(b) of the Penal Code.
