President Muhammadu Buhari is presently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the 2016 World Future Energy Summit.
Buhari who arrived in the country on Sunday, January 17, met with the Nigerian Community in Abu Dhabi alongside the minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, ambassador of Nigeria to UAE, Ibrahim Auwalu and Babatunde Fashola today.
In attendance were minister of state for petroleum resources, Ibe Kachikwu, minister of environment, Amina Mohammed and others.
He also met with Group of African Ambassadors and Nigerian professionals in UAE at the Emirates Palace today.
The president travelled alongside Lt. Col. Muhammed Lawal Abubakar, the presidential aide-de-camp, Alhaji Sariki Abba, Ambassador Lawal Kazaure, Bashir Abubakar, among others.
Buhari met with the secretary-general of the United Nations, Ban Ki Moon yesterday. He told the UN secretary-general that Nigeria will continually pursue world action to reverse the drying up of Lake Chad and save the lives of those who count on it for living.
On his part, Ban Ki Moon said admitted that Nigeria has made surprising progress against terrorism and corruption since President Buhari took the office.
