Kim Kardashian Shares an Adorable Video of Saint West, After Explaining He Is Not a “Fake Baby”
Kim Kardashian, as we all know very, very well, is comfortable sharing pretty much any and all aspects of her life. Whether via social media or her reality show or magazine cover stories, the information about Kim’s life arrives at a steady, furious rate; most of us could probably write an Us Weekly-style “25 Things We Know About Kim” in five minutes or less, and have gazed upon more photographs of her face than we have of our own.
So when Kim doesn’t share something, and makes a conscious choice to leave a certain family member or certain event out of her social-media feeds, there is usually some kind of reason—or, at the very least, people notice. And it didn’t take long for people to start asking why Kim wasn’t posting very many shots, save for the occasional Instagram or Snapchat cameo here or there, of Saint West, her second child. (Never mind that Saint isn’t a year old, apparently; the masses were used to a full-court press approach to sharing from Kardashian.)
In the past month or so, Saint—though still largely absent from the reality show, as North was in her first year—has begun showing up more frequently on Kim’s Snapchat (which she revealed over the weekend is watched by about 8 to 9 million people) and on her other platforms. And Kim explained, at the BlogHer 16 conference in Los Angeles on Friday, that, as one might expect, she kept Saint out of the spotlight so that he could have (a semblance) of a normal childhood.
“So truly, I was not posting about my son because I wanted him to be able to go to the park every single day like a normal human being and nobody knows who he is,” she said. “He’s eight months old now, and people thought he didn’t exist. People thought I had a whole fake baby and I made this whole thing up because I wasn't posting about it. And to me, that’s so ridiculous.” (Kim has referenced the theories on the show, as well.)
As if to emphasize this point, Kim posted a video of Saint on her Instagram account on Sunday, in which he laughs exuberantly and otherwise appears to be a delightful and charming infant. It has been liked more than 1.5 million times.
